Jets season-ticket holders to pay personal seat license fee

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Jets fans will have to pay a personal seat license fee if they want season tickets in the new stadium the team is building with the Giants.

That's what Jets owner Woody Johnson announced Saturday, just weeks after the Giants announced similar plans.

The Giants will charge its fans a one-time fee between $1,000 and $20,000 for the right to buy season tickets at the $1.3 billion facility in East Rutherford, which will seat 82,500 and is due to open in 2010.

But it's not clear yet what the personal seat license fees for Jets fans will be.

Johnson says the Jets are awaiting the results of questionnaires sent out to season-ticket holders before formulating their plan for the hotly debated personal seat licenses.
