Representatives from 32 NFL teams -- including a quarterbacks coach from the Cincinnati Bengals -- were present for Indiana's pro day on April 1.
A total of 10 players worked out indoors and on FieldTurf. By all accounts, the pro-day event hosted by Hoosiers coach Kevin Wilson and his staff was very well-organized. The scouts in attendance got everything they needed and the workout was executed in a timely manner.
Running back Jordan Howard -- 6-foot-0 1/8, 223 pounds -- ran the 40-yard dash in 4.59 seconds on both attempts. He had a 20-yard short shuttle time of 4.34 seconds and did the three-cone drill in 7.14 seconds.
Defensive tackle Darius Latham -- 6-4 1/2, 306 -- ran the 40 in 5.23 seconds on each attempt. He had a 27 1/2-inch vertical and 8-foot-8 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.73 seconds and the three-cone in 7.6 seconds. He performed 19 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. Latham has a very interesting Twitter handle: @BigBusiness_25. He is a likely low-round choice in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Offensive tackle Jason Spriggs -- 6-5 7/8, 299 -- had a 35-inch vertical and 7.57-second three-cone time. Spriggs is a really good athlete, and I think he convinced people that he can be a left tackle in the NFL at the pro day. Spriggs was a four-year starter for the Hoosiers, and not many players start for four years at offensive tackle in college football.
Quarterback Nate Sudfeld -- 6-6, 234 -- ran the 40 in 4.93 seconds. He had a 29 1/2-inch vertical and 9-foot-3 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.48 seconds and the three-cone in 7.42 seconds. He threw the ball well in the positional workout.
Representatives from 17 NFL teams -- including a defensive backs coach from the Detroit Lions -- were present for Southern Utah's pro day on March 30.
There were nine Southern Utah players, plus five others from area small schools, who worked out outdoors and on FieldTurf.
Defensive end James Cowser -- 6-3 1/8, 247 -- ran the 40 in 4.76 and 4.73 seconds. He had a 34-inch vertical and 9-foot-8 broad jump. He performed 24 reps on the bench press.
Cornerback LeShaun Sims -- 6-1 1/4, 197 -- had a 10-foot-7 broad jump and 6.84-second three-cone time. Sims had a good positional workout, but he has average ball skills.
