Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston's code-of-conduct hearing is scheduled for noon Tuesday, and coach Jimbo Fisher said Monday during his weekly news conference that he has "no idea" if Winston will miss any practice time.
FSU (12-0), the only unbeaten team left in the nation, meets Georgia Tech (10-2) on Saturday in the ACC championship game. A win essentially nails down a playoff bid for the Seminoles, who ranked third in last week's College Football Playoff selection committee top 25.
The hearing originally was scheduled for the week of Nov. 17 before it was pushed back to Dec. 1. It later was pushed back one more day, to Tuesday. The hearing centers on sexual assault allegations from December 2012, and possible punishments range from probation to expulsion.
Former Florida Supreme Court chief justice Major Harding has been picked by FSU to conduct the hearing. A ruling isn't expected until January, and there also is an appeals process. It is seen as likely that the process is not completed by Jan. 12, which is the date of the national championship game.
During his news conference, Fisher also said Winston is coming off his only bad game of the season; he tossed a career-high four interceptions, including three in the first half, and passed for a career-low 125 yards in a 24-19 win over Florida.
Fisher also said that despite Winston's 17 interceptions, he's "maybe more outstanding" this season than last, when he won the Heisman and guided FSU to the national title.
