Jameis Winston: I wish I could've played for Jim Harbaugh

The Michigan PR machine took full advantage of pre-NFL Scouting Combine visits to campus by Florida State's Jameis Winston and Baylor's Bryce Petty, putting out a video Wednesday that included Winston saying he wished he could've played for new Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh.

Petty and Winston, as well as noted quarterback coach George Whitfield Jr., were in Ann Arbor from Sunday to Tuesday finishing up combine preparations. Part of their time was spent meeting with Harbaugh, and the video showed Harbaugh coaching them on the interview process they will go through at the combine.

In addition, each quarterback was asked about Harbaugh.

"It was a blessing to meet a guy like that," Winston said. "It was just an honor to meet him, and all of his accomplishments and the type of coach that he is.

"I wish I could have played for him."

Petty and Winston also were shown gushing over Michigan's indoor practice facility.

"This is definitely, by far, one of the best I've seen," Petty said.

Winston was more effusive: "These guys don't know how blessed they are to have this type of facility. ... I love Florida State -- you know, 'Go 'Noles' until the day I die -- but they are so much (more) advanced than us."

The video also asked both quarterbacks about their ideal scenario on draft day. Neither was specific, though Winston did say, "I want to be a future Hall of Famer and a Super Bowl-winning quarterback. Draft day is just another chapter in my life."
