Jaguars sign veterans Forney and Russell, release Norman

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars signed guard Kynan Forney and safety Brian Russell and waived offensive lineman Dennis Norman on Tuesday.

Terms of the deals with Forney and Russell weren't disclosed.

Forney, a 6-foot-3, 302-pound veteran, has started 89 games at right guard in eight NFL seasons. He spent seven seasons with the Atlanta Falcons -- he was a Pro Bowl alternate in 2005 -- before joining the San Diego Chargers in 2008. The Chargers released Forney last week.

Russell, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound veteran, has 461 tackles and 16 interceptions in seven seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, Cleveland Browns and Seattle Seahawks. He started all 16 games the last two seasons for the Seahawks, who released him in final cuts.

Norman, who was entering his ninth NFL season, started 24 games in the last five years for the Jaguars.
