Jaguars sign Parmele, add 26 others for workouts

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed kick returner Jalen Parmele and added 26 players on three-day workout contracts.

The Jaguars picked up the workout players to bulk up their roster for this week's three-day rookie camp. The signees include quarterback Jordan Palmer, the younger brother of Oakland Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer, and Chinese kicker Long Ding.

Long, from Qing Dao, came to the attention of NFL scouts when he attended a regional combine in New York.

Others signed include West Virginia quarterback Jarrett Brown, Missouri offensive tackle Dan Hoch, Virginia Tech offensive tackle Andrew Lanier, Jacksonville quarterback Josh McGregor, Mississippi cornerback Marcus Temple, Central Florida running back Ronnie Weaver, South Carolina kicker Jay Wooten and South Florida safety Jerrell Young.
