Jags place FB Jones on IR, promote DB Cox from practice squad

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jaguars placed fullback Greg Jones on injured reserve before Thursday night's game against the Indianapolis Colts and elevated defensive back Kennard Cox from the practice squad.

Jones sprained his right ankle during last Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins. He started seven games this season and had 23 yards rushing and 14 yards receiving.

Cox was waived last week and re-signed to the practice squad a few days later. He spent 10 weeks on the Jaguars' practice squad and has seen action in three games.
