Former South Florida wide receiver D'Vario Montgomery is transferring to Iowa State, the school announced Wednesday.

"We are thrilled to have D'Vario join the Iowa State football team," Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads said in a statement. "He is a big-play receiver who will fit in tremendously with our needs at that position. He has the chance for a very successful career at Iowa State with his skill-set and size."

Montgomery was a consensus four-star recruit coming out of Winter Park, Fla., choosing the Bulls over scholarship offers from SEC powers Alabama, Florida and Georgia. Montgomery played in 11 games as a true freshman at USF, catching six passes for 65 yards.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound Montgomery will have three seasons of eligibility remaining after sitting out 2013 to meet NCAA transfer requirements.
