Houston Texans to host UCLA's Brett Hundley for Tuesday visit

The Houston Texans' interest in a quarterback in the 2015 NFL Draft might not have been quenched by the re-signing of Ryan Mallett or the addition of former Cleveland Browns starter Brian Hoyer in free agency.

UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley is in Houston to visit with club officials Tuesday, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.

Hundley is considered one of the top talents at the position in the draft, though he is also something of a project for the pro level. His coach, Jim Mora, suggested at pro day that Hundley wouldn't be ready to contribute to an NFL team as a rookie.

That's just fine for certain NFL teams who have an established veteran starter, but the Texans aren't among them. Hundley would be a curious addition to the Texans for yet another reason -- the club drafted another quarterback whose skills need some fine-tuning, Pittsburgh's Tom Savage, just last year.

Hundley is among several quarterbacks who have a chance to be the third quarterback chosen, behind presumptive first-round picks Jameis Winston of Florida State and Marcus Mariota of Oregon. He was impressive at the Bruins' pro day March 10, completing 57 of 60 passes with one drop, and showing off impressive athleticism as well.
