Georgia Tech starting free safety Jamal Golden will miss Thursday night's game with Virginia Tech with an injured shoulder.

Golden (6-feet-0, 189 pounds) was injured in last week's victory over North Carolina. Starting running back Deon Hill, who has missed the past two games because of an illness, also will miss the game.

Sophomore Domonique Noble (6-2, 204) is expected to start for Golden, who is fourth on the team with 12 tackles. Noble's ability against the run will be on display against the Hokies, who have to run effectively to win.

Golden also serves as Tech's main return man. Backup running back Tony Zenon seems likely to replace Golden in those roles.
