George Martin steps down as chief of NFL Alumni Association

NEW YORK -- George Martin has resigned from the NFL Alumni Association and the NFL Alumni Foundation.

He was executive director of the association and CEO of the foundation for nearly three years.

The boards of directors appointed Joe Pisarcik as interim chief staff officer of each organization. Martin will stay on as an adviser over the next four to five months, the alumni association said Saturday in a statement.

"The NFL Alumni remain dedicated to continuing and enhancing our work in furtherance of our important charitable endeavors to benefit at-risk children," Foundation Chairman Randy Minniear said. "We wish all the best for George and thank him for his service."
