The Chiefs met with free-agent defensive tackle Shaun Rogers on Tuesday, *The Kansas City Star* reported.
Rogers, who met with the Washington Redskins last week, confirmed on Twitter that he wrapped up his Kansas City visit Wednesday, then would go to New Orleans to talk with the Saints.

Rogers also is interested in visiting his hometown Houston Texans. He told Houston's KILT-FM, via SportsRadioInterviews.com, "It would be most definitely a fairy-tale situation, but again, you just look forward to exploring all opportunities, and hopefully, whoever reaches out to me and wherever I go it will most definitely be a positive experience."
Rogers, 31, is coming off the worst statistical season of his 10-year NFL career. He made just 17 tackles and had two sacks, both career lows, for the Cleveland Browns, who released him last week.
Rogers told KILT that he wasn't surprised by the move.
"It's one of those things that come with the territory when you're a veteran guy like myself. These kinds of things are going to happen," Rogers said. "I would just hope that my track record would speak for itself.
"Unfortunately last year, I played through some injuries against some advice from my agent Kennard (McGuire). He probably would've liked to see me sit down a little bit 'til I was fully there. We're competitors in this game, and guys go out there and try and give there all excluding all circumstances. I think I did all right with what I was asked to do this year. My goal right now is to get healthy and look into any opportunities."
The 6-foot-4, 350-pound lineman is just two seasons removed from his third Pro Bowl campaign, when he had a career-high 76 tackles and 4.5 sacks in his first season in Cleveland after seven with the Detroit Lions.
The Chiefs might need tackle help since the contracts of Ron Edwards and Shaun Smith are expiring.
