That support could come from an unlikely figure: Former Jacksonville Jaguars signal-caller David Garrard, who is open to a free-agent visit with the Lions.

"If the Lions are interested in David's services, we will listen," his agent, Al Irby, told MLive.com. "... Once Peyton (Manning) makes a decision, based on recent activity, David will be a hot quarterback."

After he was cut by the Jaguars before last season, Garrard sat out the 2011 season to rehab his injured back. He described himself as 90 to 95 percent healthy in February.

With Stanton set to meet with the New York Jets and Hill planning to visit the St. Louis Rams, Garrard and his 76 career starts might generate interest around the league.

Garrard passed for 16,003 yards with 89 touchdowns and 54 interceptions during his nine seasons in Jacksonville.
