Ex-NFL scout: Teams don't view Teddy Bridgewater as top-5 QB

A former NFL scout told College Football 24/7 that scouts he has talked to don't think Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is a top-five pick.

"I think he is solid, just don't see any qualities that make him great," John Middlekauff told College Football 24/7 about Bridgewater. "NFL teams I speak with all have their reservations. I have yet to talk to a scout who thinks he is a top-five guy."

Middlekauff is a former West Coast scout for the Philadelphia Eagles and now a radio host in the San Francisco Bay area. He tweeted Thursday night that he didn't think Bridgewater is worthy of being a top-10 pick.

NFL Media draft analyst Mike Mayock has Bridgewater as his top quarterback in his position rankings, and all five NFL Media analysts who have done mock drafts have Bridgewater in their top 10.

Middlekauff also tweeted that his top five players in the draft are South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robinson, Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins, Texas A&M offensive tackle Jake Matthews and Michigan offensive tackle Taylor Lewan.
