Eagles without WR Brown, Cowboys get back CB Newman

IRVING, Texas -- Eagles receiver Reggie Brown was inactive for Monday night's game against the Dallas Cowboys, who got back cornerback Terence Newman and receiver Miles Austin.

Philadelphia's top two receivers from last season still haven't played. Brown (61 catches for 780 yards and 4 touchdowns) is hampered by a strained left hamstring and Curtis (77, 1,110, 6) is out indefinitely after surgery Aug. 21 for a sports hernia.

Newman, a first-time Pro Bowler last season, sustained a slightly torn groin muscle July 29, the first week of training camp. He returned to practice before the season opener, but was held out of the first game.

Austin sprained his right knee covering a kickoff return in the second preseason game Aug. 16.

Also back from the Cowboys was linebacker Anthony Spencer, four weeks after arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.
