Eagles QB Young injures right hamstring in preseason finale

Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Vince Young hurt his right hamstring late in the first half of Thursday night's preseason finale against the New York Jets, knocking him out of the game.

Young rolled out on a fourth-down play and was about to run for the first down when his right leg stuck in the turf. He wound up throwing an incomplete pass as he went down, then immediately limped to the sideline.

Eagles trainers looked at the back of Young's right knee, and he gimped along the sideline before heading to the locker room with 18 seconds remaining in the half.

Young, a reserve behind Michael Vick, was 14-of-19 passing for 189 yards and one touchdown against New York's backups.

Jets quarterback Greg McElroy, who started the game, left in the second quarter with a right thumb injury.
