Seahawks linebacker Leroy Hill's domestic assault trial was delayed until Aug. 20, *Seattlepi.com* reported Thursday.
Hill appeared before Judge N. Scott Stewart in Issaquah Municipal Court and waived his right to a speedy trial after his attorney and the city prosecutor agreed to a continuance.
Hill was arrested after an April 10 incident at his home.
In a new development, KIRO-TV reported Thursday that Issaquah police have launched a new investigation into allegations of witness intimidation and witness tampering, believing Hill has attempted multiple contacts with the alleged victim.
The television station reported that the alleged victim, Hill's girlfriend, stopped cooperating with the domestic violence investigation a short time after police saw her car at the linebacker's house. She didn't attend Thursday's court trial and reportedly has stopped showing up for work.
Hill, who told the Web site outlet that he will arrive at Seahawks training camp Friday and begin practice with the rest of his teammates Saturday, will miss the team's season opener after the NFL suspended him one game for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.
