Dean Blandino on controversial calls in 49ers-Panthers

NFL vice president of officiating Dean Blandino said Tuesday that the referees got it right on two controversial plays during the San Francisco 49ers' 23-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

Blandino, speaking during his weekly "Official Review" segment on NFL Network's "Around The League," said the officials correctly called Vernon Davis' disputed touchdown catch.

Also, Blandino said the refs were correct in not penalizing the 49ers for having 12 players in the huddle. He said a team cannot be penalized for 12 men until the play clock has started. In this case, Blandino said, the play clock had just been signaled to start when the 12th player left the huddle.
