DA says LSU DL Davon Godchaux won't face charges

LSU defensive lineman Davon Godchaux won't face charges from his Monday arrest, East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore announced on Tuesday.

Godchaux, one of CFB's top interior D-linemen, was arrested Monday morning on misdemeanor charges of domestic violence battery/child endangerment and false imprisonment. LSU announced he was suspended indefinitely on Monday, and on Wednesday, interim coach Ed Orgeron confirmed on the SEC media teleconference that Godchaux's suspension has been lifted.

Moore said the charges against Godchaux would be dropped because of inconsistent statements by the alleged victim and evidence at the scene of the incident.

Godchaux, a junior and three-year starter for the Tigers, made 20 tackles (including two sacks) and two fumble recoveries in the first four games of the season.
