College Football Playoff organizers unveil championship trophy

With the move to the four-team playoff this season comes a new national championship trophy.

It can be argued that the old championship trophy, referred to as the "crystal football," was just fine (after all, unlike the new trophy, it actually was in the shape of a football), but, hey, organizers evidently thought the move to the playoff necessitated a need for a new trophy.

The big question, of course, isn't why, but rather which coach will be hoisting that trophy on Jan. 12, 2015, after the national championship game.
