Chiefs awarded offensive tackle O'Callaghan off waivers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs have been awarded offensive tackle Ryan O'Callaghan off waivers from the New England Patriots, and waived tackle Barry Richardson on Sunday.

The Chiefs also added seven players to the practice squad: cornerback Jackie Bates, tight end Tom Crabtree, defensive ends Dion Gales and Bobby Greenwood, guard Darryl Harris, running back Javarris Williams and receiver Rodney Wright.

A fifth-round pick in 2006, O'Callaghan played in 26 games, including seven starts, in three seasons with the Patriots. He also played in three playoff games.

Richardson played in six games for the Chiefs in 2008.
