Chargers hire ex-CB Dishman to assist with secondary

SAN DIEGO -- The Chargers hired former All-Pro cornerback Cris Dishman as assistant secondary coach and Greg Williams as assistant linebackers coach Wednesday.

Dishman will work with new secondary coach Steve Wilks, and Williams will assist returning linebackers coach John Pagano.

Williams spent last season as a graduate assistant at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dishman spent 13 seasons in the NFL and was a two-time Pro Bowl selection. He began his career with the Houston Oilers and later played for Chargers coach Norv Turner when he was head coach for the Washington Redskins. At the end of his career, Dishman played one season each with the Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings.

Since 2006, Dishman has been on the staff at Menlo College, where he served as defensive backs coach and, most recently, as defensive coordinator. He spent the 2008 offseason with the Chargers via the NFL's Minority Coaching Fellowship program.
