CFB Social: Halloween sweeps college football

The College Football 24/7 home page and @NFL_CFB Twitter account are great ways to keep up with all the major news surrounding the college game. But what about the things that pop up on social media and don't make the headlines?

Well, we've come to answer that call by scouring Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and other social-media networks most coaches can't pronounce to find some of the best posts. Here are some of the things that caught our eye this week:

Halloween has arrived and, naturally, the costumes came out in spades at programs across the nation. Here are a few notable ones.

Speaking of the Aggies, backup punter Shane Tripucka -- grandson of former Denver Broncos great Frank Tripucka -- dressed as a certain Florida State quarterback while his girlfriend went as a crab.

Fearing Ameer Abdullah is a real thing for friends and foes alike in the Big Ten. ... Abdullah has a few fears of his own, though.

The only two-time Heisman Trophy winner has been honored ... in corn.

Pretty good time in the Bay Area with the Giants winning the World Series. Although his campus is closer to the Oakland A's, Cal coach Sonny Dykes made sure to shoutout the winners across the bridge.

With a big game against Utah set for Saturday night, students at Arizona State already started camping out for good tickets and seats. Luckily, they're doing so in the greater Phoenix area and not some place chilly.

The #FreeGurley campaign to lighten the punishment for star tailback Todd Gurley has gone political. Yes, that's the governor of the state tweeting out his support.

ICYMI, terrific idea by Arkansas to start a Heisman campaign for an offensive lineman who threw a touchdown pass.

Texas recruiting seems to have kicked up a notch under Charlie Strong thanks in part to these Flat Stanley-esque cutouts for recruits that got sent out this week.

It's apparently bobblehead week in Reno.

Finally, Oregon offensive lineman Tyler Johnstone posted an impressive look at the stats of his star quarterback, Marcus Mariota.
