Cardinals agree to terms with WR Doucet

Tempe, AZ –- The Cardinals today announced that the team has agreed to terms on a three-year contract with LSU wide receiver Early Doucet, the team's third-round (81st overall) selection in the 2008 NFL Draft. In accordance with club policy, terms were not disclosed.

Doucet (6-0, 211) led LSU's National Championship team with 57 receptions for 525 yards and five touchdowns in nine starts as a senior in 2007 as he was also recognized with All-SEC second-team honors from The Sporting News. Ranked as the best wide receiver in the country coming out of high school by College Football News, Doucet set career highs in 2006 as a junior with 59 receptions for 772 yards and eight touchdowns in only five starts.

The St. Martinsville, LA native finished his collegiate career with 160 receptions for 1,943 yards (12.1 yard avg.) and 20 touchdowns in 45 appearances (22 starts) for the Tigers. He is only one of three LSU receivers (Dwayne Bowe, Michael Clayton) to finish his collegiate career with 20+ touchdowns.

Doucet becomes the fifth member of Arizona's 2008 draft class to be under contract. Miami defensive end Calais Campbell (second round, 50th overall) and Tennessee State cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (first-round, 16th overall) have not yet agreed to contract terms.
