Buccaneers CB Barber scheduled to have surgery on broken arm

Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Ronde Barber was scheduled to have surgery Friday to repair a broken arm, his twin brother, Tiki Barber, told The Roanoke Times.

That Ronde Barber, 36, is undergoing surgery after his 15th NFL season, could call into question whether or not he will return.

"I spoke to him (Wednesday) night, and he knows he's got some decisions to make," Tiki Barber said.

Ronde Barber has spent all 15 years of his career in Tampa and has made 199 consecutive starts, the longest active streak in the NFL. He recorded three interceptions and nine passes defended during a dismal 2011 in which the Buccaneers went 4-12.

Whether or not Barber returns to the Buccaneers could depend on who the team hires as its head coach now that Raheem Morris has been fired. So far, the team has interviewed Texas A&M coach and former Green Bay Packers coach Mike Sherman, as well as Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Jerry Gray.
