Browns bench CB McDonald, start Adams instead vs. Raiders

CLEVELAND -- The Browns benched starting right cornerback Brandon McDonald again and replaced him with Mike Adams for Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders.

With Adams moving over from safety to cornerback, wide receiver Mike Furrey will make his first start at safety since he was with the St. Louis Rams in 2005.

McDonald had been back in the starting lineup the past two weeks after playing behind Adams for three weeks.

Also, Browns right tackle John St. Clair will sit out because of an ankle injury. St. Clair will be replaced by guard Floyd Womack, who filled in when the Browns racked up 351 rushing yards during a 41-34 victory over the Chiefs.

Raiders running back Justin Fargas was inactive because of a sprained knee. He will be replaced by Michael Bush.
