Broncos special-teamer Willis placed on IR with foot injury

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Denver Broncos wide receiver and special teamer Matthew Willis will go on injured reserve after breaking a foot Sunday in a loss to the New York Jets.

Willis, a third-year pro out of UCLA, was injured during the first half. He had only one catch for 17 yards this season, against the Indianapolis Colts, but he was second in the NFL during the preseason with 263 receiving yards.

The Broncos need Willis' roster spot to deal with a number of other injuries.

Broncos coach Josh McDaniels didn't have any updates on wide receiver Eddie Royal or defensive lineman Kevin Vickerson, both of whom left Sunday's game with injured groins.
