Broncos sign LB Williams, waive veteran Greisen

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The Denver Broncos signed free agent linebacker Johnny Williams and waived linebacker Nick Greisen on Thursday.

Williams spent the 2009 season on Pittsburgh's practice squad after spending the preseason in Jacksonville, where the Jaguars had signed him as a college free agent out of the University of Kentucky.

Greisen is a ninth-year pro out of the University of Wisconsin who started 34 games in his NFL career with the New York Giants, Jaguars and Baltimore Ravens. He was drafted by the Giants in 2002.

Greisen joined the Broncos last year but a knee injury in training camp sidelined him for the season.
