Broncos go without safeties Dawkins, Bruton vs. Patriots

DENVER -- Broncos safety Brian Dawkins didn't participate in Saturday's walkthrough because of a neck injury, according to a source, and the team made him inactive for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots.

Safety David Bruton (Achilles) also will miss the game. Bruton and Dawkins both were listed as questionable on Friday's injury report.

The team signed safety Kyle McCarthy to the active roster Saturday because of the lingering doubt over Dawkins and Bruton.
