Brandin Cooks, Odell Beckham could be targets for 49ers, Jets

The depth of the wide receiver position in the upcoming NFL draft might have some teams content to wait for higher value with a lower pick, but not all.

In fact, two of them -- the San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets -- are considering a trade-up for the right receiving weapon, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport. Via Twitter, Rapoport suggests that Oregon State wide receiver Brandin Cooks and LSU's Odell Beckham Jr., could be the targets of such a move.

It wouldn't be a surprise to see the receiver-depleted Jets make a move up for the right one, although with the No. 18 overall pick, they're in a much better position to obtain one of the draft's elite receivers than San Francisco is. The 49ers hold the No. 30 overall pick. Beckham figures to go ahead of Cooks and is a strong candidate to be the third wide receiver chosen, behind Clemson's Sammy Watkins and Texas A&M's Mike Evans.

Rapoport also has reported the Dallas Cowboys to be interested in a wide receiver, perhaps Beckham or USC's Marqise Lee, with the No. 16 overall pick. If the Jets or 49ers believe the Cowboys to be targeting a receiver, that could be among the factors compelling their interest in a trade-up.
