INDIANAPOLIS -- DeDe Dorsey, who entered Colts camp as the backup to Joseph Addai, was one of more than 20 players cut by Indianapolis on Saturday.
Free agent Kenton Keith should inherit the backup job for now, although the veteran of the Canadian Football League has never had an NFL carry.
Also released were veteran defensive ends Bo Schobel and Ryan LaCasse and receiver John Standeford. Schobel and LaCasse played primarily on special teams last season, while Standeford spent most of the past three seasons on the Colts' practice squad.
Indianapolis also waived: linebackers Brandon Archer, KaMichael Hall and Victor Worsley; quarterback Josh Betts; defensive backs Duane Coleman, Tanard Davis, Antonio Perkins and Scott Ware; running back Clifton Dawson; tight ends Matt Farbotko and Jonny Harline; offensive linemen Joe Lobdell, Matt Ulrich and Sam Wilder; defensive lineman Ramel Meekins; receivers Gijon Robinson, Trent Shelton and Craphonso Thorpe.
Schobel had his contract terminated.
