Back in the zone: Vick scores first TD since 2006, gives Eagles lead

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Michael Vick scored his first NFL touchdown since the 2006 season, giving the Philadelphia Eagles a 14-7 lead over the New York Jets early in the second quarter of Thursday night's preseason finale at the Meadowlands.

Playing in his second game with the Eagles, Vick lined up at quarterback, faked a handoff and ran up the middle from 2 yards out and into the end zone.

A few hours before the game, Vick found out from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell that he'll be fully reinstated in Week 3 of the regular season. The former Atlanta Falcons star was released from federal custody July 20 after serving 18 months of a 23-month sentence for his role in operating a dogfighting ring.

Vick will be eligible to play in the Eagles' Sept. 27 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
