2023 NFL season, Week 12: Notable injuries, news from Sunday's games

Here are the injuries and news we're monitoring around the league on this Week 12 Sunday:

  • Arizona Cardinals cornerback Starling Thomas V (ankle) did not return against the Rams.
  • Atlanta Falcons defensive back Mike Hughes (hand) did not return against the Saints.
  • Carolina Panthers wide receiver Laviska Shenault (ankle) was ruled out against the Titans. Guard Chandler Zavala (knee), offensive lineman Cade Mays (knee) and linebacker DJ Johnson (neck) suffered injuries and did not return.
  • Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson suffered an ankle injury on Sunday against the Steelers and the severity of it is unknown, per head coach Zac Taylor.
  • Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett had his left arm in a sling after the game and said he felt something pop in his shoulder, per cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot. He said he'll undergo an MRI on Monday. 
  • Browns quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson was ruled out after being evaluated for a head injury against the Broncos, per FOX broadcast. Wide receiver Amari Cooper was ruled out with a rib injury, but his X-rays are negative, per head coach Kevin Stefanski. Defensive tackle Jordan Elliott (ankle) was also ruled out.
  • Houston Texans guard Tytus Howard (knee) was ruled out against the Jaguars. 
  • Jacksonville Jaguars offensive lineman Cam Robinson (knee) was ruled out against the Texans.
  • Las Vegas Raiders safety Marcus Epps (stinger) and offensive tackle Kolton Miller (shoulder) suffered injuries in Sunday's loss. 
  • Los Angeles Rams defensive back Duke Shelley (hamstring) did not return against the Cardinals.
  • New England Patriots quarterback Bailey Zappe replaced Mac Jones to start the second half against the Giants. Wide receiver Demario Douglas (head) was ruled out.
  • New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed (thigh) did not return against the Falcons. Wide receiver Chris Olave was ruled out with a concussion. Defensive end Cameron Jordan sustained a shin injury in the game. 
  • Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin III suffered an ankle injury late in Sunday's game against the Bengals, head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters. Tomlin added he did not know the severity of the injury.
  • Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox (groin) and linebacker Zach Cunningham were ruled out in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game.
