Jonathan Stewart darted through the Falcons defense, racing 45 yards into the end zone to put Carolina up 28-19 with just over 2 minutes to play. Needing two scores, Atlanta went into desperation mode and went four-and-out on its next drive.

Panthers QB Jake Delhomme has taken a lot of heat this season for his high number of turnovers, but he was at his best against the Falcons. He took care of the ball, played efficiently and even picked up a key first down by scrambling on one of Carolina's touchdown drives.
Key Stat
Entering the game, Carolina had an NFC-worst minus-9 turnover ratio. The Panthers' ability to turn that around against the Falcons (plus-two) was the difference.
Noteworthy
Falcons RB Michael Turner rushed for 111 yards in the first half before leaving with a high ankle sprain. He did not return and Jason Snelling had 61 yards in his place. ... Atlanta QB Matt Ryan now has at least one interception in six consecutive games. ... Panthers OT Jordan Gross left the game with a broken ankle in the second quarter. Guard Travelle Wharton slid over to take his place at left tackle and Mackenzy Bernadeau then took over for Wharton at guard.
