Cowboys return man Patrick Crayton ran back a punt 73 yards for a touchdown with under 8 minutes left to put Dallas up 34-14.
Game ball
Crayton lost his starting wideout job to Miles Austin, but still showed why he's an indispensable member of the team. He had just two receptions, but one was for a touchdown that gave the Cowboys momentum just before halftime. He also filled in nicely for return man Allen Rossum, who left after injuring his hamstring in the first quarter, with an average of 29 yards per punt return.
Key Stat
On average, Falcons QB Matt Ryan has been sacked fewer than once per game in his short career, but the Cowboys brought him down four times and hurried him all day. The Falcons had run 143 pass plays without a sack until the Cowboys got to him on two plays in a row in the first quarter.
Noteworthy
The Cowboys are 3-0 coming off a bye under Wade Phillips and have won their last five games after a week off. ... Cowboys QB Tony Romo strained his neck when he was hit as he went to the ground at the end of a long run in the second quarter. He returned on the next series. ...
