Game ball
Flacco is looking to move past the stigma of being only a game manager in his second NFL season. Flacco aired the ball out with 43 passing attempts, which might have seemed strange coming from the run-oriented Ravens. Flacco finished with 301 passing yards and three touchdowns.
Key stat
The Ravens did a credible job limiting Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe to only four receptions for 40 yards and a touchdown.
Noteworthy
Chiefs QB Matt Cassel was inactive for the game. Brodie Croyle played well, throwing two touchdowns. But more importantly, he did not turn the ball over. ... Chiefs RB Larry Johnson rushed 11 times for only 20 yards. ... Ravens starting RB Ray Rice rushed for 108 yards. Rice has rushed for more than 100 yards only one other time in his career, gaining 154 yards on the ground against the Browns in Week 9 last year.
