Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney sacked Jaguars quarterback David Garrard on the last play of the game, a second-and-goal attempt from the Colts' 7-yard line, allowing the clock to expire.

Peyton Manning went 29-of-34 for 364 yards and three touchdowns, his fourth 300-yard output of the season. Manning completed his first 17 passes before misfiring early in the third quarter to Anthony Gonzalez. The NFL record for consecutive completions to start a game is 22, held by Mark Brunell and David Carr. Manning has completed at least 70 percent of his passes in five straight games.

Tony Dungy's teams have gone to the playoffs in 10 straight seasons, dating back to 1999 when he was the coach at Tampa Bay. Jaguars OL Richard Collier made his first appearance at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium since he was shot in the early morning hours of Sept. 2. Collier was paralyzed from the waist down and had his lower left leg amputated because of his injuries.
