Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter sacked 49ers quarterback Shaun Hill on fourth-and-10 from the Miami 21 with 1:07 remaining in the game. The sack halted a 49ers comeback attempt and increased Porter's league-leading sack total to 17.5.

Despite playing a ball-control battle with winds in the mid- to high-teens for most of the game, Miami QB Chad Pennington threw two touchdown passes in the first half, allowing the tough Dolphins defense to play with a lead.
