Jay Feely knocked in a 34-yard field goal with 7:11 remaining in overtime to give the Jets a 34-31 win. The victory gave New York sole possession of first place in the AFC East.

Brett Favre worked his magic, especially late, to help the Jets beat the Patriots for the first time since Nov. 12, 2006. Favre went 26-of-33 for 258 yards and two touchdowns, and was 5-of-6 for 54 yards in OT, setting up Feely's winning field goal.

While the Patriots outgained the Jets 511-375, New York made the plays when it counted, going 9-of-16 (56 percent) on third downs, while New England was just 4-of-14 (28 percent).

The Jets have won four straight games for the first time since 2004. ... After seven consecutive games with an interception earlier this year, Favre didn't throw one for the second straight contest. ... Patriots QB Matt Cassel set single-game career highs in passing yards (400), completions (30), attempts (51) and rushing yards (62). He is the first QB since 1970 with 400 yards passing and 60 yards rushing in the same game. ... After missing three games with an ailing knee, Patriots RB Sammy Morris returned and carried the ball five times for 14 yards. ... The Patriots had won eight consecutive overtime games (including playoffs) before falling to the Jets. It was the longest such streak in NFL history.
