Gonzalez had career highs with nine catches and 137 yards, and seemed to be Peyton Manning's go-to guy. Wayne had an early drop but made up for it by hauling in a 32-yard touchdown and a 20-yard catch that set up Vinatieri's winning field goal.
Key stat
The Colts surrendered 180 yards to the Vikings on the ground but buckled down on third downs. It allowed Minnesota to convert only 2-of-13 third-down conversions, a major reason why the Vikings failed to get into the end zone, despite repeatedly marching into Indianapolis territory.
