After the Lions let a 17 point lead slip away, Jon Kitna led the team on a 7-play, 80-yard touchdown drive to put the Lions ahead for good.

It was over when ...
With 1:56 left in the game and the Raiders down by eight, Lions DE Dewayne White forced a fumble on the Raiders' final push and the Lions recovered. Tatum Bell ran the ball into the end zone for an insurance touchdown less than a minute later.

Game balls
Jon Kitna threw for 289 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions on 27-of-36 passing for the Lions. Raiders QB Josh McCown gets credit for bringing his team out of a 17-point, second-half hole to take the lead in the fourth quarter. McCown finished 30-of-40 for 313 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Key stat
Both teams relied on their passing games. Rookie WR Calvin Johnson made a solid debut for the Lions. He caught six balls for 70 yards and scored one touchdown. Oakland WR Ronald Curry was McCown's favorite receiver. He had 10 receptions for 133 yards and one touchdown.
