Denver Broncos

"The defense that entire year was second to none." - Kendall Coyne Schofield

The 2015 Denver Broncos won the Super Bowl as a result of a quality defense led by defensive coordinator Wade Phillips and QB play that was among the NFL's worst. The Broncos led the NFL in total defense, pass defense and sacks. But 39-year-old quarterback Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler combined for 19 touchdowns and 23 interceptions. Running backs Ronnie Hillman and C.J. Anderson balanced the offense, combining for over 1,500 rush yards and 12 rushing touchdowns. In the playoffs, the Broncos held their opponents to 14.7 points per game, while registering 14 total sacks. Denver defeated the Steelers, 23-16 then advanced to the Super Bowl after beating the Patriots, 20-18. In Super Bowl 50, the Panthers were held to a season-low 10 points while Cam Newton was sacked 6 times. The Broncos won, 24-10 and Peyton Manning retired after the season.
