Dallas Cowboys

"That era of Cowboys had a lot of heart." - Mike Zimmer

The 1995 Cowboys won their third Super Bowl in four years with both a scoring offense and defense that ranked third in the NFL. After finishing the regular season 12-4 and atop the NFC East, the Cowboys defeated the Eagles and Packers to reach the Super Bowl. Larry Brown, drafted in the 12th round by the Cowboys, picked off two Neil O'Donnell passes as the Dallas beat Pittsburgh, 27-17 in Super Bowl 30. Offensively, Dallas was carried by the Hall of Fame combination of QB Troy Aikman (3,304 yards passing, 16 TDs); NFL rushing leader Emmitt Smith (with 1,773 yards, setting a then single-season record 25 rushing TD) and wide receiver Michael Irvin (111 catches, 1,603 yards, 10 TDs). The Cowboys’ defense, meanwhile, featured free agent signee and Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders; Hall of Fame defensive end Charles Haley (10.5 sacks) and All-Pro safety Darren Woodson (95 tackles). Barry Switzer won his first and only Super Bowl as Cowboys head coach.
