Derrick Henry 99 Yard Touchdown Run

"That play was probably the best play I've ever seen - been a part of, in my entire life." - Taylor Lewan

On a Thursday evening late in the 2018 season, the Titans’ Derrick Henry accomplished a feat that no one else had since Tony Dorsett 35 years earlier: a 99-yard run from scrimmage. The game was significant to Tennessee, which at 6-6 was fighting to remain alive for the playoffs. Leading 7-2 in the second quarter and pressed up against their own goal line, QB Marcus Mariota handed the ball to Henry, a 6-foot-3, 247 pound running back. Henry made a nice move to the outside for about 20 yards until getting cut-off by a Jaguars defender. But a sudden stiff-arm from Henry left the Jaguar in the dust as Henry sprinted down the sideline; still chugging, Henry tossed aside another Jaguar, broke a tackle, and cruised into the end zone. The score was one of four TDs by Henry in the game, which he finished with 238 rushing yards, the highest single-game total of any player during the 2018 season. The Titans finished 9-7 but narrowly missed the playoffs.
