NFC Wild Card - "Highest Scoring Postseason Game"

"The greatest offensive playoff game in the history of the NFL." - Kurt Warner

The highest scoring playoff game in NFL history took place on January 10, 2010 in a Wild Card matchup between the Packers and the defending NFC champion Cardinals in Arizona. Spectacular quarterback play by Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers and Arizona’s 38-year-old Kurt Warner, who was in his final NFL season, highlighted this wild game in which the teams combined for over 1,000 yards and a playoff-record 13 touchdowns. Arizona led, 17-0 in the first quarter, 24-7 in the second, and 31-10 in the third. But the Packers didn’t quit; a pair of touchdown throws by Rodgers in the third cut the Arizona lead to 31-24. In the fourth, the teams went back and forth and the game was tied, 45-45, after another Rodgers touchdown throw with under two minutes left. In the final seconds of the fourth quarter, Arizona could have won the game, but missed a 34-yard field goal. Ironically, it was a defensive play in overtime – a Rodgers fumble returned for a touchdown Karlos Dansby – that would clinch a 51-45 Cardinals’ win. Rodgers finished with 423 yards and four touchdowns, while Warner was an incredible 29 of 33 with 379 yards, five TDs, and no interceptions.
