Phyllis George, a former Miss America winner who in 1974 was the first female sportscaster to work at a major TV network, became a pioneer in sports journalism and football broadcasting when in 1975 she was named a co-host for “The NFL Today.” George, who was born on June 25, 1949 in Denton, Tex., worked the popular CBS pregame show alongside Brent Musburger, Irv Cross, and later Jimmy “The Greek” Snyder. George left "The NFL Today" in 1978 but returned in 1980. She was also the First Lady of Kentucky and later a co-anchor for the CBS Morning News. George has also acted, including in the 2000 movie Meet the Parents.

Hannah Storm is a journalist who hosts ESPN’s “Sportscenter” and the primetime interview specials “In Focus with Hannah Storm” and “Face to Face with Hannah Storm,” for which she is also the executive producer. Storm has been a host for the Super Bowl, among many other major sporting events. In 2018, Storm and the sports broadcaster Andrea Kremer were analysts on Amazon Prime Video’s live streams of “Thursday Night Football” – the first female tandem to do so. At age 18, Storm, whose family had constantly relocated throughout her childhood, became an Oilers fan when she moved to Houston. Although the Oilers were terrible, Storm has said, she still loved them – until, that is, they left for Tennessee.
