Minnesota Vikings Training Camp Activation

Minnesota Vikings Huddle for 100 During Training Camp

Every summer the football season begins again with renewed hope and excitement for all 32 teams in the National Football League. Training Camps across the country spring to life as players report and begin the rigors of preparing for another exciting season on the gridiron. Fans flock to camps to get a first glimpse of their favorite players and start building hope for the possibility of a Super Bowl victory.

This year at Verizon Vikings Training Camp in Minnesota there’s another reason for fans to come together— the NFL’s Huddle for 100 initiative. The Minnesota Vikings joined forces with U.S. Bank and HandsOn Twin Cities to execute volunteer projects every day of Training Camp. HandsOn Twin Cities is the only full-service volunteer center that promotes and facilitates volunteerism while enhancing the impact of time donated by the community. They work with all types of companies, nonprofits, and individuals to ensure every volunteer hour is valuable.

Thousands of Vikings fans from across the country came for the 16 public days of Vikings Training Camp and every day there was a different volunteer project aimed at helping critical issues facing the Twin Cities community. Sock bundles, hygiene packs, and laundry kits were prepared and distributed to homeless shelters. Mini school-supply packs were stuffed and provided to nonprofit partners for the start of the academic year. And to meet high demand, snack packs were assembled to support homeless and youth-serving nonprofit organizations. Led by employee volunteers from U.S. Bank, fans have committed thousands of hours of volunteer time to bring needed products into the community.

This community support won’t end with Training Camp. Vikings fans will have the chance to continue this great work every game day this season outside of U.S. Bank Stadium. HandsOn and the Vikings will continue their support of volunteer activities prior to every game on the Commons. Fans interested in being part of this campaign can start working on projects up to three hours before kickoff. Inside the stadium, fans can find U.S. Bank’s Huddle for 100 activation on the main concourse with a new volunteer project each game and more information on how to give back to the community.
