Dallas began its run of three Super Bowl titles in four seasons with a 52-17 rout of Buffalo. Most Valuable Player Troy Aikman was nearly flawless, completing 22-of-30 passes for 273 yards.
After Buffalo took a 7-0 lead, Aikman tied the game on a 23-yard pass to tight end Jay Novacek near the end of the first quarter. Aikman teamed up with wide receiver Michael Irvin for a pair of quick strikes -- a 19-yard score and, just 18 seconds later, an 18-yard score near the end of the second quarter.
In the second half, Aikman and wide receiver Alvin Harper connected on a 45-yard touchdown pass as the Cowboys rolled to the 35-point win.
