Follow-the-bouncing-ball moments kick off wackiness

Take a look at each in-depth breakdown and then vote for your favorite nuttiest play of Week 15 at the bottom of the right column.

Follow the bouncing ball

The situation: Down 20-7 with 10:45 left in the third quarter, the Bills face a third-and-12 situation at their own 49-yard line.

Things got a bit nutty when ...Ryan Fitzpatrick's pass intended for Brad Smith ricochets off the knee of a Dolphins defender, pops into the air and is picked off by Reshad Jones. It was just one of a number of unfortunate events to strike down the Bills, who have lost seven consecutive games.

Amazing feet

The situation: Down 17-0 to the Redskins with 24 seconds remaining in the first half, the Giants face a second-and-10 from Washington's 40-yard line.

Things got a bit nutty when ...Eli Manning passes to running back Ahmad Bradshaw, who allows the ball to bounce off his hands, but is fortunate enough to kick the ball back to where he could catch it as he falls to the turf. The Giants capitalize on their fortune, getting a 40-yard field goal from Lawrence Tynes two plays later to trim the Redskins' lead to 17-3 before intermission.

That's snow fun

The situation: Up 23-13 with a bit less than six minutes left in the game, the Dolphins have a first-and-10 at their own 24-yard line.

Things got a bit nutty when ...Reggie Bush storms through the Bills defense for a 76-yard touchdown run that ices the win for Miami. Bush ends the run with a slide through the end zone. Teammate Brandon Marshall joins in on the fun, and the pigskin party is greeted with a yellow flag. But who can blame the Southern California kid for wanting to have a little fun in the snow? It turned out to be a banner day for Bush, who rushed for a career-high 203 yards in the win.

How's that for entertainment?

The situation: The Patriots go into the half sporting a 27-16 lead over the hometown Broncos. The crowd at Sports Authority Field at Mile High is completely unaware of the mayhem about to take place during halftime.

Things got a bit nutty when ... It's all fun and games until a monkey rides a dog around the field. Fans in attendance and TV viewers at home all get to revel in this rare sight. This is the sort of behavior we would expect from the Titans, who gave fans a cheerleader being eaten by a mascot and T-Rac battling the Galactic Empire last season. It'll be tough for Denver to top Sunday's spectacle.

The Panther-rooski

The situation: With 59 seconds remaining in the first half, the Panthers have the ball at the Texans' 7-yard line on a second down.

Things got a bit nutty when ... The Panthers dig deep, deep, deep ... deep into the playbook for this doozy. The Texans defense seems thoroughly confused when the Panthers lined up for the trick play, and were completely unprepared for Cam Newton to slip the ball under the backside of Richie Brockel, who promptly ran around the left side of the line for a touchdown.
