Rookie DE Jeremy Jarmon forced Buccaneers RB Clifton Smith to fumble with 48 seconds to play and safety Chris Horton recovered the ball at the Tampa Bay 29-yard line. With only two timeouts remaining, the Bucs were unable to get the ball back.
Game ball
Chris Cooley was the only consistent player on the Redskins offense. While the unit was unable to generate any kind of flow, Cooley was the steadying force with his sure hands and ability to break tackles. His 17-yard touchdown catch in the third quarter got Washington kick-started.

Going into the game, the Redskins had the worst third-down defense in the NFL, but they allowed Tampa Bay to convert only 2-of-15 opportunities.
